Departing from Auckland in an early morning long haul flight with 3 kids, the airport hotel is a must. I used my points to book this hotel.
We got upgraded to a suite which was nice. The beds and bath is great. There is no separate check in desks for platinum members. Also the hotel doesn't have a lift...only 2 floors but lugging down luggage while checking out not fun.
Renovation underway. They have a shuttle bus to airport which we used; costs 6$ per person.
